Position Title:           Project Coordinator
Client:                           Los Angeles Country Metropolitan Transportation Authority (METRO)
Estimated Hours:       Full Time Employee (40 hrs / week)
Hourly Rate:                $45.84 / hour

OVERVIEW

We are actively seeking a Project Coordinator to assist our client, Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro), working on multiple transportation, environmental and sustainability focused projects within the Los Angeles region. We’re looking for a candidate that excels in a dynamic, fast paced environment where your success is measured by the impact you make. In this role, you will be a member of our rapidly growing Energy and Sustainability team. This position is a great opportunity to join an industry in the Los Angeles, CA area.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assess existing Metro sustainability and environmental programs and identify areas of opportunity;
  • Serve as a technical resource to Metro and provide advice on project direction;
  • Participate in engagement and outreach efforts with the public related to Metro opportunities and initiatives;
  • Develop program recommendations, planning documents, and reports;
  • Implement and manage sustainability projects and programs;
  • Facilitate Metro strategic planning efforts and provide subject-matter expert input;
  • Support Metro environmental compliance efforts;
  • Develop Metro annual report documents, communication pieces, and other internal and external communications related to sustainability programs and projects;
  • Develop tools, databases, and other tracking mechanisms to support sustainability program implementation and assessment;
  • Aid with the collection, review, status, and organization of project documentation, data, and deliverables;
  • Provide administrative support to Directors, Project Manager(s) and to the Project Team;
  • Support departmental and project meetings, both internal and client facing, via scheduling, coordinating, developing meeting agendas and notifications, taking meeting notes, and following up on appropriate action items;
  • Assist in preparing written materials including correspondence, reports, procedures, and guidelines;
  • Conduct quality reviews of all written materials prior to distribution to Metro;
  • Maintain detailed and organized project files;
  • Aid with the collection, review, status, and organization of project documentation, data deliverables, and closeout documents;
  • The previous list of duties and responsibilities is not all-inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time;

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Environmental Science or related field is highly preferred;
  • 1-2 years construction, sustainability or related field experience, preferred;
  • Understanding of sustainable design and energy efficiency principles highly preferred;
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including strong knowledge of Excel;
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Ability to be work with proficiency in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities;
  • Experience in outreach and public outreach highly preferred;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills;
