Salary Range: $101.6K to $119.6K annual, plus employee benefits

DUTIES:
• Oversee, review, and coordinate the work conducted by CEQA Master Services Agreement (MSA) contractors in the areas of:
a) Notices of Exemption
b) Initial Studies
c) Negative Declarations / Mitigated Negative Declarations
d) Environmental Impact Reports
e) Other Technical Reports supporting the CEQA process, such as Historic Resource Evaluations, Traffic Impact Analyses, Noise Studies, Air Quality Studies
f) Risk Assessments of adjacent structures as identified by the California Department of Education such as pipelines, railroads, airports, freeways etc. during the assessment of new school sites or improvements to existing school sites
• Oversee contract development and MSA contractors by soliciting bids, preparing Requests for Proposals, performing contractor evaluations, and issuing work authorizations
• Establish and maintain project budgets and schedules pertaining to CEQA projects and investigations.
• Provide technical advice to OEHS Management in terms of overseeing CEQA MSA contractors as well as contractor budget and schedule control.
• Preparation of LAUSD Board Reports, briefings and presentations
• Coordinate and attend community meetings pertaining to the CEQA process

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
• Ten (10) years full time paid professional experience managing the preparation of environmental planning documents and the environmental review process

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
• Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor’s degree
• CEQA regulations; other federal, state and local environmental regulations; California Department of Education (CDE) – required environmental studies and checklists

PREFERRED EDUCATION:
A degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Planning or Environmental Science is strongly preferred
