Salary: $105.0Kto $135.2K annual, depending upon experience
DUTIES:
• Responsible for advising contractors and district staff on energy conservation project issues and provides technical supervision to inspectors on work as part of the retro-commissioning process
• Manages and coordinates the project team, other District staff and contractors particularly in communicating directives and ensures that project scope is built according to plans and specifications as well as cost limits
• Advises and provides technical direction to Commissioned Architects, Structural Engineers, Consultant Mechanical and Electrical Engineers on District guidelines, policies and procedures for the design of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, plumbing, piping, refrigeration, fire sprinkler, lighting, lighting controls and other building systems in the commission and retro-commissioning of new buildings
• Plans, organizes, directs and reports project management activities and progress to Executive Staff
• Reviews drawings and specifications submitted by Commissioned or Consultant Mechanical or Electrical Engineers or vendors to ensure conformance to District policies and guidelines and to determine possible conflicts with design, structural, architectural or engineering features; requests required revisions from concerned parties to resolve issues
• Advises Consultants, Commissioned Architects and Engineers and other District staff on mechanical or electrical engineering issues encountered during the construction phase of energy related projects
• Provides technical direction to Sustainability Department staff in the preparation of mechanical and electrical designs, specifications, and cost estimates of energy related projects
• Performs daily contract administration duties, including assisting the Senior Project Manager and
• Sustainability Staff in bid analysis, pre-construction meetings and related award coordinating activities
• Manages, oversees, and coordinates all facets of the construction phase of an energy efficient project including mobilization, construction, and close-out
• Performs other duties as assigned
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Required Experience:
Minimum of 10 years professional experience in the Project/Construction Management of retrofit and energy upgrade projects of existing facilities with full responsibility for coordinating projects from conceptual design through construction with construction values of $10M or more
Preferred Experience/Skills/License:
• Experience managing Design-Build contracts related to Energy Efficiency and/or renewable energy projects
• Experience with the Division of State Architects (DSA) construction/design/certification process
• Experience with the Commissioning Process in new and existing buildings
• A valid California Driver’s License for us of an automobile as travelling will be required
Required Education:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or
Mechanical Engineering ONLY
