Quality Assurance Specialist II
Client / Program: Los Angeles Community College District
Location: Program Management Office, Downtown Los Angeles
Salary Range: $72.4K to $90.2K annual, depending upon experience
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
• Coordinate with the Quality Manager and Quality Program Support to review and revise LACCD Bond Program Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for consistency in tone, style, level of detail, and format (“one voice” treatment)
• Guide stakeholders at all levels of the organization in the review and revision of existing SOPs, and in the development of new SOPs as needed, to ensure Bond Program design, construction, and PMO management processes are clearly documented, including processes that span multiple departments/areas of the Bond Program
• Review and revise SOPs for accurate references to forms, documents, and other Bond Program and District policies and procedures (including hyperlinks), researching subject matter and conferring with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve any inconsistencies in SOPs and other documentation
• Review and revise SOPs for alignment with recommendations from external and internal audits
• Lead PMO SMEs in the development and documentation of process workflows (Visio diagrams) to support SOP narrative
• Manage executive level review and approval of SOPs
• Manage upload of new/revised SOPs to SOP SharePoint Site, maintaining auditable revision history
• Develop presentations and training materials based on general instructions as needed
• Provide QA/QC review of reports in support of design, construction and PMO management
• Provide document editing services that include spelling, grammar, consistency, and format for various reports prior to final review and delivery by the PMO
MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree
• 7 – 10 years’ experience writing and developing materials for multiple stakeholders/subject matter experts in a fast paced environment
• Excellent communication and presentation skills a must
• Experience creating Visio workflows
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• MS Office Suite including Word, Visio, SharePoint, and Excel
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
• Advanced degree in English, Business, Construction Management or related area
• Familiarity with various editorial and style guides
• Familiarity with bidding and contracting process, and with programs that utilize public funds
• Familiarity with the Architecture/Engineering and Construction industries
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards, quality and risk management systems
• Broad understanding of the Los Angeles Community College District and Bond Program
