Program: Los Angeles Unified School District – M&O Sustainability Projects
Salary Range: $155K to $180K annual

DUTIES:
Prepares and provides project descriptions, definitions, and specifications for contract architects or other contractors and District architectural , engineering, or maintenance personnel, on energy efficient projects
Gather & analyze data to prepare energy project budgets and maintain responsibility for fiscal controls and cost management
Analyze and evaluate allowable requests for funding of projects outside the program’s primary scope of work
Develop a master project plan that includes health and safety concerns; the effects of the interruption on the education process, and cost effectiveness
Prepare, review, and evaluate project schedules, scope, and budgets and determine the action necessary to resolve problems
Assigns project managers to energy projects; monitors and supervises project management and staff activities and evaluates their performance
May review for approval change orders, requests for clarification, inspection reports, punch lists, non confirmation reports, fire alarm systems, permits, scope changes, and DSA reviews
Resolve complex project related issues, disputes, and disagreements
Provides managerial and construction oversight to project managers and staff
Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
Fifteen years of project/construction management experience, particularly in managing energy efficient projects
General supervision is received from the Director of Maintenance and Operations or other higher level administrator. General supervision is exercised over technical employees and project management staff involved with projects
Additional Preferred Experience:
Experience utilizing Building Information Modeling (BIM)
Experience with LEED and/or Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) projects
Experience with the Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes
Experience with construction management
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
Graduation from a recognized college or university with a BA or BS in Engineering, Architecture, or Construction Management, or related field.
Additional courses in Business Administration, Public Relations, Accounting, School Finance, Personnel Management, Educational Facilities Planning, and Communication are preferable.
Preferred Licenses and Certificates:
A valid Certificate of Registration as an Architect by the California Architectural Board or Professional Engineer by the California State Board for Professional Engineers and Land Surveyors

CCM Certification
